Ticket Drive Launched to Bring Scotties Tournament of Hearts to Cape Breton in 2019
The Cape Breton Scotties bid is launched! Thanks to everyone who came to Wednesday’s official announcement. The Sydney Curling Club had a great turnout!
You can buy your ticket deposit online or at Centre 200. Ticket deposit forms are also available at other locations (see the attached press release for information) and at the Sydney Curling Club. At the club we also have a couple of large posters which could be displayed in your business and many copies of the deposit form (these could also be used as posters). The club is open Wednesday from 4 to 8 pm.

May 5, 2017 Ticket Drive Launched to Bring Scotties Tournament of Hearts to Cape Breton in 2019 PACKAGES AVAILABLE TODAY FOR ONLY $50 DEPOSIT HURRY HARD! The Cape Breton Regional Municipality (CBRM) and Centre 200 announced this week their bid to bring the Scotties Tournament of Hearts to Cape Breton in 2019. The national women's championship will be hosted at Centre 200 with the winner representing Canada at the World Curling Championships. The Full Event Package goes on sale today online at http://tickets.capebreton.ca and the Centre 200 box office. A $50 deposit is required to hold your seat, with full tournament packages starting at $375. Presales deadline is June 16th. Ticket allocation based on date of purchase. Automatic entry into the draw to win a Full Tournament Pass. Convenient equal payment plans will be available starting in July. Deposit forms will also be available at Emera Centre (North Sydney), Savoy Theatre (Glace Bay), Mayflower Mall (Sydney), Membertou Trade & Convention Centre, and the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre. The Scotties Tournament of Hearts can trace it roots to the 1950s with the Western Canadian Women's Championship. The tournament hosts the provincial and territorial champions from across Canada as well as the previous winner representing Team Canada. The last time the tournament was hosted in Nova Scotia was 1992 in Halifax with Manitoba's Connie Laliberte named champion. Past national champions include world and olympic champion Sandra Schmirler, Nova Scotia's Colleen Jones, the new Seniors World Champion, and current World Champion Rachel Homan.
