Highlanders Clinch Win Over Riptide

Centre 200 was on fire today as fans weathered the April snow to watch the Highlanders take on the Saint John Riptide. The Highlanders topped the Riptide 91 – 89 in a game that kept the crowd on their feet.

Austin Witter nailed a buzzer beater from past half court to give the Highlanders the lead in first quarter 24 – 23. They continued to hold off the Riptide 54 – 44 going into the half. Saint John closed the gap in the fourth but the Highlanders hung on to claim the victory.

Booker Woodfox nailed 26 points and 4 assists for the Highlanders.  Clinton Springer scored 19 points and 6 rebounds. Chad Frazier landed 15 points and 6 assists.

Chris Commons led the Riptide with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Aaron Brown landed 22 points and 7 rebounds.

 


The Highlanders are now in 4th place in the Atlantic Division with a record of 14 and 23. The Highlanders and Moncton Miracles continue to battle for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division on April 26 at the Moncton Coliseum.
