The Cape Breton Highlanders were back at Centre 200 for their third game in three days after playing back-to-back games on the road. After a hard fought game against the Island Storm, the Highlanders took the win over the Island Storm 120 – 110.
PEI started off strong and ended the first half leading Cape Breton 63 – 43. They then led by as many as 28 in the third quarter, but the Highlanders closed the gap to 86 – 80 going into the fourth quarter. The Highlanders exploded in the fourth to outscore the Island Storm 40 – 24.
Leading the Highlanders was Chad Frazier with 26 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds. Anthony ‘Sky’ Walker nailed 25 points and 10 rebounds. Booker Woodfox added 19 points to the Highlanders victory.
Jahii Carson led the Island Storm with 26 points and 5 assists. Akeem Ellis scored 20 points and 7 rebounds.
Back-to-back wins put the Highlanders in a position to compete for the final playoff spot in the Atlantic Division.
The Highlanders play the Saint John Riptide on Sunday at 3pm at Centre 200.
