As a kid playing street hockey, my heroes were Jean Beliveau, Pete Mahovlich, Serge Savard, JC Tremblay, and especially Jacques Lemaire. (Yes, that's how old I am.)
I can still recall Jacques' famous CBC TV interview (he didn't speak much English) in which he replied to every question with a shrug of his shoulders and "I ... ah... shoot de puck." It didn't matter what he was asked, he only seemed to know that one phrase. "I shoot de puck." The poor interviewer eventually gave up.
Yes, he most certainly did shoot the puck. Almost better than anybody else of that era.
I have long since lost my passion for the Habs, and in fact for the sport as a whole. But I do appreciate others who still care, who still nurse their tribal urges as manifested in our national game. And the lengths that they will go to give a big "neener-neener" to their rival tribes.
And so when I spied the item below in my chiropractors' office, it really hit my funny bone and I had to share.
Mind you, he's a hardcore Boston Bruins fan, so I am beginning to doubt his sanity.
