Cape Breton – The Savoy Theatre regrets to announce the postponement of Island Girls, which was set to live-stream on May 20, 2021.
Anyone who has already purchased an online link is advised that their ticket is still good and will be honoured whenever the show can be streamed safely.
Executive Director Pam Leader says the Nova Scotia Provincial Covid-19 guidelines make it impossible to do the show as current restrictions only allow for a maximum of 5 people per live-streamed performance. “Island Girls not only involves the four ladies, but also the band and the tech crew, so it can’t be done at this time. We’re very sad about that, but we want to be safe and we plan to get back to it as soon as restrictions allow,” said Leader. “We’d like to thank all concert-goers for their continued understanding and patience.”
Island Girls creator/director Stephen Muise says the Island Girls cast are determined to get into living rooms everywhere. “Hold on to your tickets! We’ll get there eventually, but we have to be safe about it. Once we do, we’ll have lots to share with everyone.”
ISLAND GIRLS Music and Comedy features the talents of four of Cape Breton Island’s busiest performers: Bette MacDonald, Heather Rankin, Lucy MacNeil and Jenn Sheppard. They are backed by seasoned musicians Stephen Muise, Fred Lavery, Brian Talbot, Em Dingwall and Colin Grant. Tickets for the live-streamed event are just $26 and are available at ppv.savoytheatre.com
