Jeff Hutcheson: Why Retirement, and Why Inverness

In May 2015, famed anchor of CTV's Canada AM, Jeff Hutcheson formally announced his retirement after a 50 year career in broadcasting. You probably remember him best for reporting on sports and weather on Canada AM from 1998 to 2015. 

These days, Jeff is taking life easy, playing golf, planning retirement trips, and writing a blog. In Jeff's latest post, he explains his reasoning for skipping the extravagant cruises and retirement tours of Europe in favor of quiet visits to the golf town of Inverness.

"We absolutely fell in love with the area. The old town of Inverness is being resuscitated by the golf course, jobs are being created and things are hopping again in the summer. The beach adjacent to the golf course is spectacular, and booming again."

And for Jeff, Inverness is more than just beautiful scenery and a world-class golf course.

"Most of all, to us, Cabot and Inverness are about the people. Just try and find someone who’s grumpy…it’s impossible!"
