Sydney-based MediaSpark has been designing educational games and simulations for two decades, and the company has just launched a new product, the GoVenture Card Game.

MediaSpark’s GoVenture line of products are used in thousands of schools, universities, nonprofits, and businesses around the world, including the likes of Intel, Procter & Gamble, and other industry leaders. Most of MediaSpark's GoVenture products are technology based, but the GoVenture Card Game is a more conventional paper-based game.

MediaSpark founder and CEO, Mathew Georghiou, described the motivation for the new game ...

“Creating educational experiences is really fulfilling because we help improve people’s lives. But, we wanted to create a new game that was purely designed for fun … a game that both gamers and nongamers would love, and one that we could play with our kids and not feel like the gameplay is too complex or too dumbed down.”

The idea for the GoVenture Card Game was born in 2015 and the team has been slowly refining it over the past few years.

Georghiou explains that his team of avid gamers at MediaSpark put a lot of thought into every aspect of the gameplay to keep it unique with good flow. Some of the game theory and mechanics are explained on the game website at GoVentureCardGame.com

Georghiou added, “The game is designed to be quick and easy to play but deep in strategy. Novice and experienced players, young and old, will have fun playing together. You will be amazed to discover the depth of the gameplay that is revealed as you play. You can follow every turn and every decision, or just play casually.”

Two themes are included in one box:  The Entrepreneur theme for those interested in business, and the Monster theme for fantasy sci-fi fans.  There are over 300 cards in the set and the gameplay is similar with both themes.

The monster illustrations of dragons, orcz, zombies, vampires, werewolves, and merfolk were designed by local artist Paige Rankin. The rest of the game visuals and packaging were designed by Jeff MacNeil, Senior Visual Designer at MediaSpark.

The game website also includes alternative games that can be played with the amusing Entrepreneur cards and engaging Monster cards.

The game sells for around $35 and can be purchased online at GoVentureCardGame.com

It will soon be available in select local stores and on Amazon.ca and Amazon.com
