Networking and Business Development Mission

Halifax, Nova Scotia to Edinburgh & Glasgow, Scotland

May 6-13, 2017

The Scotland Nova Scotia Business Association is launching a multi-sector business development and networking partnership, starting with a mission for Nova Scotian entrepreneurs to meet with Scottish businesses, investors and potential partners and to explore market opportunities in the UK and Europe.

Nova Scotian entrepreneurs and company representatives will join their counterparts in Scotland for a unique business networking experience in Glasgow and Edinburgh.

The Program:

A rewarding program of networking and business development opportunities is being finalized. These include strategic business development events featuring innovation leaders and players at stimulating venues. This will be an exceptional opportunity to network with hundreds of entrepreneurs and international investors and potential business partners. 

Who should participate?

For Nova Scotia based entrepreneurs this multi-sector mission will be of interest to those who wish to grow their companies and are considering entering the UK and European marketplace or expanding their current activity in this market thru possible partnerships with UK companies. Similarly, Scottish entrepreneurs that are considering the North American market will be exposed to opportunities and potential Nova Scotian partners to help support market entry.

The mission will be of particular interest to those focused on entrepreneurship and innovation in the following sectors - Energy Renewables; Informatics; Food and Beverage; Creative Industries and Tourism.

Travel arrangements:

Unless noted participants will be responsible for the cost of all transportation, accommodation meals and other requirements.

Participants may travel on their own but organisers have made arrangements to travel as a group, at preferred rates.

A special group rate ($649 per person including one bag) has been arranged with WestJet, direct Halifax to Glasgow return, departing on May 6 and returning May 13. Seats must be booked with a deposit of $75 and full payment 30 days before departure.

Participating companies may be eligible for support for expenses under NSBI’s Export Growth Program.

To finalize arrangements and receive travel discounts, mission organizers will need a limited number of delegates to participate. If you are interested, please let us know asap.
