Priority #3 for District 5: Equality for the People

Equality for the People: I will continue my work to strengthen District 5 by sustaining pressure on senior levels of government, for fair and equitable funding for roads and waste water, not one or the other. The continuation of status quo funding models from senior levels of governments has failed declining municipalities and will continue to erode the fabric of our communities. I believe all political parties who endorse the One Nova Scotia philosophy need to implement fundamental changes to existing policies and programs to embrace a One Nova Scotia funding model. This model would see a province wide fair, equitable, distribution of Equalization funds, Transit funding, Library funding and NS Power taxation. For political parties to continue to ignore these facts shows a lack of co-operation in truly building One Nova Scotia. District 5 where I chose to Live, Work, Shop and Play.
