Here ya go... its all over now. Expect 100s would love to break a thousand. So April 15th @ 3::00pm We are protesting at the Legion in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. Cecil Clarke is having a birthday party and charging $25 admission ($40/couple) for his run for Tory leadership. This is not just at our lack of governance and accountibility locally, its also our MLAs and MPs that are "all talk, no action". Every level of government holds responsibility. This IS a peaceful protest, non violent activism. We have a message for government, from local to Federal. We are tired. We are tired of shady deals in secret back rooms. We are tired of secret contracts. We are tired of paying the highest taxes in Atlantic Canada. Rates twice that of places on the mainland. Tired of hungry kids and seniors living in poverty. We are just tired of poverty due to not only lack of action, but their denial. Stephen McNeil says we aren't in a health care crisis. Is he blind, deaf and dumb? Our local MLAs sit idol for the most part, doing fluff bits that provide no help. Our Mayor decides to book first class flights and then defend it with arthritis. But what about the thee others that breached policy and flew firsr class one or both ways. The Provincial government is ripping us off in Equalization to the tune of $229 million. They actually charge us to "govern" from away...why can't we govern for ourselves? I will not take credit for this "Rally for Change". I am just a messanger. I will be there, and I hope to see thousands. Its time for Cape Bretoners to get angry; they don't like us angry...they never have because we are strong. Stand with us for a betrer tomorrow!
