I took care of my dad for seven and a half years after my mother passed. The last year and a half he was completely bedridden. My dad served in the canadian Air Force going overseas during World War Two. The veterans gave my father a electric mattress that had baffles in it that would go up and down taking pressure points off of his body. When he entered the hospital for the last time he DID NOT have one bed sore on his entire body. After being in the hospital for less then a week he did get them. So the point I am making is there is a solution to seniors in the nursing homes that are getting bed sores, but the government would rather point the finger at the nursing staff as that is less costly then to purchase these mattresses for the seniors that are bedridden. Government is trying to get away with as little money as they can for our seniors and that is the bottom line.
