Another media source reported that it was suggested to the Police Chief and Fire Chief that overtime be used for emergencies only but they flatly rejected that idea and apparently that was the end of that.It appears that overtime has become an entitlement over the years.Of course overtime is meant for emergencies only like it is with any responsible business or organization. Our Chiefs,Senior Administration and elected officials have to be reminded that we elected 13 people who are responsible for approving the budget and the Chief's in this instance have to be ignored. This overtime situation of 6 Million Dollars is absolutely ridiculous and it involves dishing it out without justification and unfairly.Sorry folks it's not fair to raise our taxes to pay for someone's trip to Cuba, new windows or a down payment on a new car.Time for our elected officials to grow a spine.
