Glace Bay It is with sadness that we the family of Mary Ann (May) MacDonald announce her passing In the early hours of May 27, 2022, our beloved mother left this world to rejoin our father in eternal life. May was born April 28, 1932, the youngest child of James Hugh and Bertha MacKinnon. Nothing meant more to May than family; widowed in 1981, she devoted her life to providing a loving home for her family, always believing that she would someday be united with her beloved husband Frank. The last surviving member of her immediate family, May is survived by sons, Francis (Mona), Jimmy (Norma), Glace Bay and daughter Judy (James Chute) Halifax. Much loved Nan to her six grandchildren, and Nana May to her seven great grandchildren. May was a special aunt to many adored nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents; the love of her life Frank; sisters Christine McLellan (Charles), Flora Cann (Jimmy),Johneva Shea; brothers, Howard (Ruth), Tommy (Hazel), Clarence, and John. Following her wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Patten Funeral Home, Glace Bay where family and friends are invited to join in a service celebrating her life on June 2, 2022 at 1p.m. Interment will take place in the family gravesite, at Black Brook Cemetery Port Morien.
