Prince District RCMP arrest man for Impaired Driving after a call from a concerned motorist

On the afternoon of Thursday, January 3rd, the Prince District RCMP received a call from a concerned motorist who observed a large cube van swerving on Route 2 and nearly striking another truck head-on in the community of Springhill.

Officers of the East Prince Detachment were able to locate and stop the vehicle in St. Eleanors. A 30 year-old male from Inverness was then arrested for impaired driving and later provided breath samples that were more than twice the legal limit. The man is scheduled to appear in Summerside Provincial Court on February 14th to answer to the charges of Impaired Operation of a Motor Vehicle and Operating a Motor Vehicle Over 80mgs%.

The Prince District RCMP would like to thank the travelling public for reporting any dangerous or suspicious activity which contributes to making our PEI roads safe.
