It's with deep sadness that we announce the Peaceful passing of Tarek Osama Shalabi on June 22, 2022, in the QEII Health Science Centre, Halifax, after a Courageous battle with Aplastic Anemia and Lukemia. Born February 23, 1971, in Alexandria, Egypt. He was the loving son of Osama and Maria Shalabi. Tarek was a kind compassionate humble fun loving man his heart was as big as his smile. He enjoyed the simple things like movie nights with his friends, Jacks spaghetti dinners and karaoke nights with his favourite Ellie. Tareks greatest love was Selma and his fur baby Rupert his love for them was always on full display. Prior to coming to Nova Scotia he obtained his Second Mate Ticket Marine Navigational Officer Bachelor's Degree in Maritime Transport (Nautical Technology). He traveled the world and spoke several languages. He fulfilled his childhood dream of moving to beautiful Cape Breton where he obtained Bachelor of Computer Systems Development, Electrical Engineering and His class 3 with air brakes, He was currently employed by Safety First. Left to mourn, Selma; loving parents, Osama and Maria; sisters, Rania (Hossam), Sylvia (Ramy). Also left to mourn are Selma's siblings, Jocelyn, Josephine (Gerard), Robert (Connie), Mary Willena Millie (David) Leonia (Phillip), Elsie Charlotte (Aubrey), Danhughie (Nicole), Duane (Cindy), Angie (Art), Frankie (Allison); along with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Joanne Marshall. A funeral service has been held. Friends and family are welcome to visit 468 St. Peters Rd, Sydney, Tuesday June 28th, and Wednesday 29th, from 2-8 p.m. Words of comfort can be sent to: [email protected] Gone but not forgotten, although we are apart, your spirit lives with in me, forever in my heart.
