More jobs gone to Halifax. SHAME. The so called "challenges" in the spring was apparently a test run to see if the paper could be printed in Halifax and shipped to Cape Breton. We passed the test. The workers in Halifax should not have been so eager to please, now they will probably be overworked and paid the same. Winter is here and shipping to Cape Breton won't be as easy in the snow and ice. I ask that each time a person does not receive their paper on time or at all, they contact Saltwire and voice their dislike. We have to make these company's that are taking their business out of Cape Breton realize that we are upset and we have to show it. Capers 4 Healthcare blocking off the Causeway should inspire us all. The Typographical Union representing Cape Breton Post need to put something in place in their next contract, "when there are changes being planned in the company that will result in job losses, the employer needs to sit down with the union to discuss those plans before any changes are made" This needs to be a learning curve for the Union.
