CALLING ALL TALENT (ages 8-20). This December, the Savoy Theatre will produce the 5th annual showing of The Nutcracker (A Selection of Favourites from the Ballet), which has become a family favourite in its previous four-year run at the Savoy. Directors/Choreographers, Cynthia Vokey and Kim Roper and Director, Cynthia Lahey return to head up the production team with Producer, Pam Leader for this exciting local ballet production.

Therefore, we are calling on young local actors (ages 8 years to 20 years) to fill two narrative roles as our sister team to tell the story!

'Catherine and Sarah', intersperse our ballet selections with a descriptive story telling of The Nutcracker and play an integral role for our show.

AUDITION INFORMATION: We are looking for two youth to play the roles of sister story tellers, Catherine and Sarah. We are accepting applications from youth aged 8 years to 20 years, fitting the roles of sister with stage ages of 8- 18 years. Must be available for fall rehearsals (Sundays) and show date, December 1st.

Character Description

Catherine: stage age 15-18, the older sister reading the story of The Nutcracker to her younger sibling. Catherine must be able to memorize large monologues and able to engage listeners with vocal expression as movement is limited. A fear of heights may be an issue for some candidates as this role is played from a platform built side of stage.

Sarah: stage age 8-12, the younger sister listening to the telling of The Nutcracker from her older sister. Sarah must be very energetic and able to engage listeners with vocal expression as movement is limited. A fear of heights may be an issue for some candidates as this role is played from a platform built side of stage.
