Do you enjoy socializing with people? Do you have an immense pride on our island? Consider being a Tour Guide and ambassador of Cape Breton Island. Our island's cruise ship industry is quickly growing! This year we have a 67% increase in cruise ship traffic, and it will continue to grow in the years to come, however, we are in dire need of more guides to accommodate the steady growth, including individuals who can communicate in German, Spanish and Asian languages.
I will be conducting a required workshop for those interested in guiding Saturday, May 27 (9 am to 4 pm) at the Joan Harris Cruise Pavilion's Kavanagh Room. This workshop will cover every aspect of the industry on Cape Breton Island (see attached Guide Workshop Itinerary in below post). Although the cost of the workshop is due at the start of the workshop, pre-registration is required. The fee is $65 and includes a workbook on all aspects of island history and cruise related tourism venues, policies and procedures.
