William George (Bill) Faulkner 1945-2016

Bill Faulkner was a colleague and friend of the team here at MediaSpark and goCapeBreton.com. Bill spent a considerable part of his working life here in Cape Breton and we would like his friends in the community to be aware of his passing. Below is Bill's Obituary published by his family in the Chronicle Herald.

FAULKNER, William George

Aged 71, of Halifax. On Tuesday, November 22, 2016, our wonderful father and friend passed away peacefully at home, as was his greatest hope. Born on April 15, 1945 in Halifax, he was the son of the late Muriel (Gamble) Joudrey and Bertram Faulkner. He is survived by his adoring children, Jennifer (Peter Robichaud), Matthew (Audrey Lehouillier), and Amy: along with his cherished grandchildren, Massimo and Zoe. Bill was predeceased by his wife, Carol Page.

If you met Dad even once, you likely understand why we are so heartbroken to lose him. He had a special way of touching everyone he encountered, from store clerks to close friends, with a warmth, charm, and light that could feel transformative. Dad loved a good pun, a great joke, and a good story, and he was a master of all three.

Our family is forever grateful to Dr. Gabrielle Horne and the staff of the Heart Function Clinic for their incredible care of Dad, extending his life and the quality of it.

His children will host an open house for family and friends to remember Dad on Sunday, November 27, from 2-4pm in Jennifer's home at 2708 Gottingen Street.

Bill...what a wonderful gentleman. I don't think I've ever seen Bill in a nasty mood. He was an intelligent, easy going friend of many, who made a valued contribution to MediaFusion and the young techie upstarts in our community and will be sadly missed by all those fortunate to have known him. Farewell old friend and my dearest condolences to your family.
