Internships and Apprenticeships

View Map View Directory

Internships and apprenticeships can greatly contribute to the employment skills and success of our community.

If you are an employer, consider offering an internship or apprenticeship (paid or unpaid).

If you are seeking an internship or apprenticeship, consider posting your interest here to make it easy for employers to find you.

Note that internships and apprenticeships are not the same as regular jobs that may offer full compensation and other benefits. If you have a job posting or are seeking a regular job, use the other features of this website.

Here is how it works if you WANT TO BE AN INTERN OR APPRENTICE:

  • People wanting to be interns or apprentices post their information on this website. You can even post your interest anonymously to protect your identity. You can post whatever information you like, including your skills and the type of work experience you are seeking.
  • Employers can find your posting on this website and contact you directly (if you choose to include your contact information) or send you a message through this website (if you choose to be anonymous). Once you receive a request, you can decide how to respond, which may include turning down the request, or to ask questions or set up a discussion to find out more. Replying will reveal who you are.
  • Instead of waiting for employers to find you, you can also browse a list of internships and apprenticeship posted by employers.
  • Once you have successfully connected with another person, you can continue your communication with each other however you prefer (email, telephone, meetings, etc.).
  • To get started, choose Open Positions or Seeking Positions .

Here is how it works for EMPLOYERS:

  • You can browse a list of people who have posted their interest in being interns or apprentices. Contact the person who best fits your profile. Some people may post their information anonymously, which means they may not reveal their personal identity until the are comfortable with your request. A candidate may choose to accept or ignore your request, or may ask for additional information from you.
  • You can also make it easy for people to find you by posting your employment opportunity. You can post whatever information about the opportunity that you would like. Consider including the same information you would in a job posting, as well as if the position is paid or unpaid. If you are contacted by a someone interested in the position, you can choose how you wish to respond.
  • Once you have successfully connected with another person, you can continue your communication with each other however you prefer (email, telephone, meetings, etc.).
  • To get started, choose Open Positions or Seeking Positions .
