He went on to play for the Indiana Pacers and the Sacramento Kings. Head played nearly 350 games in the NBA, averaging 22 minutes and 8 points per game.
Since 2012, Head has been playing in professional leagues in Mexico and Europe.
President and GM, Tyrone Levingston, said, “We’re very excited to have a veteran with Luther’s knowledge and experience ready to contribute to our team and the Cape Breton basketball community. I am thankful to Luther’s agent, Yorick Parke, for being instrumental in connecting us with Luther, and the efficient and professional manner in which we were able to work together.”
Luther Head added, “I look forward to working hard for my team and helping my teammates in any way that I can. I’m truly excited to join the Highlanders franchise.”
