Here's the "hocus pocus/abracadabra" along with guest appearances by heavy hitter library supporters{click link below} that Council fell for last December. Now,for 4 years Council held the deed over Doucet's head on the condition of a construction start frankly because of Doucet's constant excuses/stalling.That was better than nothing but not much.Anyone can dig a hole and fill it back in.This time around the approval process included the deed transfer without conditions as Clarke now says the property was transferred months ago.Doucet recently advised the Post that they are still working on blueprints and site plans.Question is: Was Council made aware that the latest extension/negotiations included the deed transfer without conditions which should have been something like this: You get the deed when construction is complete along with the occupancy permit ???
This is hitting home for folks now as we go down for a nice walk...no parking,no treats,no entertainment,no chats,no people and on and on.This can go on forever if there are no conditions.Doucet can just sit on the property and do nothing...just treat it as a nice investment opportunity while blocking off two major entrances which they wasted no time doing. It should be noted that Doucet contributed $6000 bucks to Clarke's 2024 election campaign and the name of Doucet's family ties to a local/well connected {including inside CBRM administration} Sydney businessman is rapidly circulating.
If Council was not made aware of the deed transfer and therefore didn't approve it, then this sale may have been contrary to the Municipal Government Act and should be referred to the cops with the other sale across the harbour{Port Property} which is already in Police hands along with the credit card scandal.
CBRM appears to be unravelling before our very eyes.
No one seems to be asking tough/appropriate questions, especially the media,or talking at least publicly.Wonder why???... Angry?Embarrassed?Ashamed?Connections?None of OUR busines?Related to a large campaign contributer? We deserve answers form our Council and the local media.
