NOTE: Real leaders aren't afraid to make tough decisions.....for the greater good . We are a world renowned cruise ship/tourist destination.....for many of us our bread and butter but.....we have 400 derelict buildings. Time to clean it up and preserve our reputation !!!

Interesting article in the Post{click link below} telling the "other" side of the story.Good start for Council on this one but 399 to go.Remember, governing is about tough decisions for the "greater good"..... for citizens and visitors. https://www.saltwire.com/cape-breton/owner-of-iconic-cape-breton-bakery-building-told-to-fix-property-in-six-months-or-face-demolition

It must be a rat magnet. The deterioration is extensive, and to "renovate" is a pipe dream. I wonder what has been done to rectify the rot in the past several years? Tear it down at owner's expense before someone gets seriously injured "exploring" it.

The problem was made worse a few years ago when Council deemed it a heritage property which was a joke. That's for a fortress, museum, old war buildings etc.Not a rat infested abandoned bakery.
