Celebrate the unveiling CBRM’S Newest Heritage Property

Grand Narrows Ferry Wharf July 3, 2022

The Grand Narrows Waterfront Development Society (GNWDS) is proud to celebrate achieving designation as a Heritage Property by Cape Breton Regional Municipality(CBRM).

Grand Narrows site has been an important transportation hub for hundreds of years. The site has been a formal ferry terminal prior to railroad arrival in late 1800’s and development of local highways. Visit and read the wonderful new interpretive panel boards throughout the site describing the history of this unique location.

The site continues to be a prime tourist and travel destination with the community operated Wheelhouse café offering fine food, great vistas, music and old fashion Cape Breton hospitality.
