Well let's take a look at the last few years...do we need some new blood??? -over 50 cops on long term disability -rampant nepotism{hiring family and friends} -inability to attract qualified candidates for officers -multiple cop cars cracked up in high speed chases -numerous cops having gotten in trouble with the law themselves -one cop found guilty of stealing property out of a home while on a search warrant but yet still on the force -lots of chatter of bad morale Kinda think it may be time to widen the search.

I met with Police chief Steven McKinnon and he has an excellent vision for us in CBRM. He’s aware of the problems here and is making plans to find solutions. We came away feeling hopeful and seeing a change in our future.

He chose to ignore my concern until I asked the Complaints Commissioner to intervene . With nowhere to hide , MacKinnon assigned the case / investigation to Sgt. David Browner . I was contacted by Sgt. Browner by phone .He quickly concluded that former Inspector Donovan “would not perjure himself “ and that he was not going to investigate further ! For anyone to suggest that police corruption is ‘everywhere’ so that makes it tolerable in CBRM ? We are paying for that level of service ? Raymond Mac Donald My Post Follow Me 2026-07-06 10:14 AM ADT Reply 0 0 Right on.Just look at my article...and that's only stuff that got out to the public.We need a large broom to sweep the cesspool Civic Center out from top to bottom including senior administration,chiefs,managers and elected officials.Citizens are not being well served no mater which way you look and it's issue after issue.
