I have been canvassing my district now since Monday and I feel this is the most important way to meet residents .The folks I have talked to don’t seem to have many questions for me, perhaps the reason is they are so busy with day to day living, trying to provide for their families, keep the mortgage payed etc. etc. They just haven’t the time to stop and ask what can be done, what must be done, what can be done to relieve some of the daily pressures they are faced with. I know we read in the papers, or hear on the news or social media that we are in dire need here in the CBRM, taxes are high, jobs are hard to come by, our children leaving and not returning, healthcare diminishing, child poverty, just to mention a few of our concerns. The things that are high on my list of priorities are as follows and maybe these concerns are also yours, so LET ME BE YOUR VOICE, BUT first let me tell you that I WILL be working on your behalf at all times, I WILL NOT sit quietly and allow things to go without questions, I will speak up and be your voice, I will hold people accountable when I think things are being handled improperly, and I will not be a follower but rather a leader on your behalf—LET ME BE YOUR VOICE
- Unemployment is so high and we need jobs to keep us afloat, allowing our young people to stay on the Island.
- Healthcare is so important, now more than ever, in our area since we are an aging population and we need more doctors, and technicians to insure good health care.
- Child poverty is on the rise with such a high percentage living below the poverty level.
- Taxes are always such an important issue with all our people and we must address this.
- Outmigration is something that is also on the minds of many people, we want to keep our children here but as I stated before we need new industry so they can secure good paying jobs.
- If the port is seen as the answer to some of our employment woes then solid planning such as improved infrastructure (railroad, roads etc.) is key to a successful outcome.
I see the frustration over and over again, people wanting to stay in Cape Breton but they are so unsure of the future. I would like to have the opportunity to represent you in Council once again. I will work very hard to address your concerns, (like I did when I was in Council before) be transparent, ask the questions that need to be asked and always work on your behalf.
LET ME BE YOUR VOICE.
WORKING TOGETHER DOES MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
MY PROMISE TO YOU IS TO WORK HONESTLY, BE TRANSPARENT AND KEEP YOU UP TO DATE AT ALL TIMES.
Feel free to contact me with any concerns you may have 902-562-3319 or by e-mail [email protected]
