I'm Shara Vickers and I am running for council in CBRM district 1. I grew up in Sydney Mines and returned nearly six years ago. Since returning to Cape Breton, I did a brief period of health promotion work before switching to full time work in hospitality. While working in that field, I began, and later took time off to complete my M.S. in Applied Nutrition.

I am community-minded and want to work to build on our resources. I want to focus on changes that have direct impact on our businesses, neighbourhoods, and people. I am always open to new suggestions and willing to change my perspective when new ideas and evidence come to light.
