Wa'Jeat? Lots of Food Choices In CB Nowadays — Post Your Faves!

I started the Good Food Review way back in 2016 and posted a few reviews over the years.

Since then, there have been a lot of changes in food choices in Cape Breton and now we have more choice than ever.

Let's give the best a boost by sharing our favourites in the comments below.  Or post your own full review or story.

So far one of our favourite places is Lobster Pound & Moore. They are always busy, and a reservation is highly recommended. I would say there is pretty much something for everyone on the menu. The salads are fresh and refreshing. Scallops are great, and my favourite is when the chef has the stuffed lobster special on. The fish and chips is outstanding.

Our most favourite places to dine out is Naru Sushi. Very good, very authentic, great service. Always consistent. The sushi is fresh and really well prepared. Wasabi is nice and fresh too. Tempura is light crisp, and never greasy. The miso soup is excellent, not salty, and the service is delightful. I also enjoy their ramen bowls too.

The drive to Louisbourg is really nice, and worth it to visit Bistro Phare 756. Excellent brunch, and they will customize to your liking. House-made Lachs, marinated salmon, and in house bakery with lovely sour dough bread, bagels and more. They also have their baked goods available at the Sunday afternoon market.

Pizza always seems to have its own cultural offering wherever you go. The same for Cape Breton too. Kenny’s is a favourite staple of many, and Napoli is also popular. In my previous life I did a fair bit of work with Greco. Still a good chain. My personal favourite is Biachinni’s. Their dough and toppings remind me of wood fired pizza I had in a little village in Italy. Belissimo!

I have another one for you. A very small business. Was a small business, and after 10 years of trying to get things rolling, the lack of community support has forced a significant downsizing. But fret not!! Your favourite Thyme Savour Take & Bake Frozen white chocolate and blueberry scones, or plain biscuits, and your pets favourite doggy biscuits, Energy bars for your autumn hikes, Ohh enry treats to indulge, and of course Bannock. All can be had for ordering through the Cape Breton Food Hub, or stop in at the Royal Canadian Legion branch 19 On Archibald Street in North Sydney Monday through Saturday 10:00 am to 6:00 PM. Check the Thyme Savour Take & Bake Facebook page for updates.
