1 Death, 1 New COVID-19 Case Reported - Data Portal Not Updated

The Nova Scotia government is reporting 1 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) case in the province as of Tuesday, June 9, 2020. The total number of cases is now 1060. There was 1 additional death reported today. There have been 62 deaths in total in Nova Scotia.

Yesterday, the province suspended updating the COVID-19 data portal with the following message. It was last updated on June 7th.

"Note, June 8: Data sources are being reconciled and consolidated to ensure all publicly reported data comes from a single source, Panorama, the province’s public health reporting system. Updated data will be reported this week"

23 consecutive days without a reported case of COVID-19 in our zone was interrupted on June 3rd, with one new case reported. Monday, June 8th marked the fifth consecutive day in the Eastern Zone with no cases reported. For the preceding 3 days, there were 3 consecutive days of no new cases reported in the province.

The suspension of the province's data portal prevents the public from determining where the new case was identified (by zone).

Previously, the Eastern Zone had 14 consecutive days without a case that ended on May 10th when a single new case was reported. However, no new cases occurred since.

The Eastern Zone had had 4 total deaths, with the last of the reported deaths occurring on April 23rd.

The highest number of active COVID-19 cases (non-recovered or deceased) was reported on April 19th totalling 466.
