After 20 days in a row with no new cases of COVID-19, the province is reporting 1 new case today.
The Nova Scotia government is reporting 1 new COVID-19 (coronavirus) cases in the province as of Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
The case was travel-related and the person is in self-isolation.
There are now 2 people in the hospital. Neither is is in the ICU. Their COVID-19 infections are "considered resolved".
The total number of cases is now 1062. There were no additional deaths reported today. There have been 63 deaths in total in Nova Scotia. There a 1 active case remaining. 2 people are currently hospitalized. 998 people have recovered or are classified as "resolved."
IMPORTANT:
"Anyone who has travelled outside of Nova Scotia must self-isolate for 14 days. As always, any Nova Scotian who develops symptoms of acute respiratory illness should limit their contact with others until they feel better."
State of Emergency Renewed:
"The province is renewing the state of emergency to protect the health and safety of Nova Scotians and ensure the safe re-opening of businesses and services. The order will take effect at noon Sunday, June 28 and extend to noon Sunday, July 12, unless government terminates or extends it."
Atlantic Bubble Begins on July 3, 2020:
"Earlier today, the Council of Atlantic Premiers announced travel restrictions in Atlantic Canada will be eased as COVID-19 case numbers remain low in each province. Interprovincial travel within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland and Labrador, without the requirement to self-isolate for Atlantic Canadian residents, will be permitted beginning Friday, July 3."
The Eastern Zone had had 4 total deaths, with the last of the reported deaths occurring on April 23rd.
The highest number of active COVID-19 cases (non-recovered or deceased) was reported on April 19th totalling 466.
