CBRM staff are developing an action plan focused on revitalizing the downtown core of Sydney. Members of the CBRM General Committee voted to accept the recommendation to develop the plan.

Action Plan Details:

• The Plan is due to council by February.
• It will include a parking strategy for downtown.
• It will address Charlotte Street aesthetics. 
• It will review the commercial tax rate in downtown Sydney as its 10% higher than commercial rates immediately outside Sydney.
• It will address the need to have residential development in the downtown.
