The NSEF is protesting the provincial building on Wednesday June 27th from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.. The NSEF is fighting the Provincial Government because of the lack of eligible funding we receive here in Cape Breton. We invite all concerned residents to join us. The recent announcement of the closure of 2 of our local hospitals has people angry and this is your chance to have the provincial government hear you on this matter. All are welcome and we hope to see you there.

Funding of health care is a concern too: The last Health Accord was funded on a per capita basis WITHOUT a consideration of per capita needs in 2014 under Harper. Trudeau still imposed it on provinces. Because of this, Nova Scotia will be $993 million short in the federal funding. According to the Council of Canadians, the federal FUNDING FOOTPRINT will be as low as 18.6% in 2024 and trending even LOWER. Remember it was 50 - 50 percent when this started!
