Ayden Yhard is only six years old. But he's set to become the current record holder for youth catch and carry rainbow trout in Nova Scotia.

On the weekend, while ice fishing near Bras d'Or with his dad Mark and uncle Jason, he hooked and landed a rainbow weighing in at 3.5 lbs on their scale. By the time his dad got it weighed at Sobey's, the recorded weight was 3.19 lbs.

That is enough to break the youth record in Nova Scotia by over 1/2 a lb.

The previous youth record was set in 2007 with a rainbow trout coming in at 2.62 lbs.

Congrats Ayden! Looks likes like we have a fishing pro in the making.
