BIG NEWS FOR SUMMERTIME REVUE FANS.

During a performance of 'Tis the Season, on Friday night, Dec 14, the Savoy Theatre made an exciting announcement.

That announcement was about our very own Bette MacDonald - Summertime Revue alumna, and one of our favourite comedic icons, and her RETURN TO THE CAPE BRETON SUMMERTIME REVUE CAST!!

This July/August 2019, as the Summertime Revue hits the Savoy stage (as well as other stages in NS), Bette will once again join the existing cast of characters and become part of the summer fun. Which means Bette taking along her own memorable characters, the ones audiences have come to love. "Mary" Christmas everyone. 

The decision to have Bette return has sent the cast and the Savoy Theatre management and staff into a flurry of excitement. Savoy Theatre manager Pam Leader says it was time. "We were hoping Bette could arrange her schedule to do the Revue at some point. We kept hoping...and this year we finally got our wish!! We are absolutely thrilled and so are the members of cast and crew. We could not wait to share the news with audiences and show goers," said Leader. Bette, who recently wrapped up eight seasons playing "Trudy" on the CBC hit comedy Mr. D has been contributing to the comedic writing of the Revue with head writer Ed MacDonald. 

Maynard Morrison will once again direct the show.
