Call to Action: The next step for the former Sacred Heart Church

First and foremost, thank you all for your vocal and positive support in favour of my plans to continue bringing life to the former church at 217 George Street. The parking issue has almost been resolved and we are now at the final hurdle.

On Tuesday, February 23rd the CBRM will be holding a public hearing about the development to solidify the direction and future of this beautiful building and the issue of parking.

So, HOW CAN YOU HELP?

For the next week they will be receiving calls, emails, and letters from the public regarding YOUR thoughts, and where YOU land on support or opposition of this new chapter. If you would take 5 minutes out of your day and pass on your thoughts and support it would not only mean a lot to me but would go a long way in solidifying the future of this building and all the beautiful possibilities it holds for our community.

All the info for where to send your thoughts are below, and these lines of communication will be open until 3:00pm Friday the 19th. Please write, email or voicemail call, and share with your friends. It will all go a long way!

Thank you for your time and support. I cannot wait to get moving on bringing this project to life so that it may be a home for us all.

Kevin, I just cannot believe what they are putting you through to open the doors to this beautiful facility....it is actually shameful!!! And the irony of it all is that it is over parking a car to get there!! We all know (and many of us continue to voice our disgust and can’t even drive by the lot) that they took away your only parking for the Hat 😡. They ignored our outcries, public demonstrations, social media rants etc etc to protect blatant private developments by those connected to mayor and council (train station site). And now here we are again rallying for a private development initiative that is so good for our community. You are the only developer putting private money into community driven projects for our downtown Sydney development!!!!! And what makes me SO angry is the reality that if this were a project that was connected to a cruise ship or something port related, we all know there wouldn’t be a word about it. Hell, you probably could have been slipped some money from the navigational aide fund to pay for it!! Oh to be connected to THAT lot with their millions and absolutely no public scrutiny. 😡 Isn’t it time for change of control in the administration at City Hall????
