The Cape Breton Post has announced the shutdown of their printing press in Sydney. The parent company, Saltwire Network, decided to consolidate printing at their Halifax location to avoid costly future repairs that were needed. They say the Halifax press will offer improved print quality and they are prepared to handle the extra demand from printing done in Sydney until now.

The closure of the press will affect 14 full or part-time local jobs.
