MoneySense Magazine released its annual ranking of Best Places to Live in Canada for 2017. After adding 198 more communities this year, Cape Breton's rank is 407 on the new list.
New Glasgow and Truro, who were previously ranked below Cape Breton, moved up to rankings 399 and 397. Shawinigan, Quebec fell 5 positions and is now under-performing Cape Breton according to the MoneySense evaluation criteria.
6 of the 10 communities that are ranked below Cape Breton are in Nova Scotia.
