Cape Breton University Introduces Park-Then-Pay System

Park and then Pay!

CBU is introducing a new, more efficient way to pay for parking. The new park and pay system will allow drivers to park and then pay on their way into the building.

Step 1- park your car
Step 2 – visit a display terminal and enter your license plate number
Step 3 – pay for parking via coin, Visa or Mastercard and take your receipt

Drivers will no longer have to display a printed ticket on their dashboard. The new technology will allow Campus Security Officers to monitor payment at the terminals via a synced handheld device.

Installation of the six new display terminals will begin today, Tuesday, June 14, and be complete by Friday, June 16. The terminals will be installed in parking lots 1, 2, 5 and beside the library, replacing all but two of the current pay and display terminals.

As part of this process individual parking meters are also being replaced with new meters that will accept payment by VISA, Mastercard (secure) and coin.

Term and annual passes can still be purchased at the CBU book store.
