CBR Police catch, charge man for causing disturbance

A 29-year-old man is scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court today facing charges connected to a disturbance on Welton Street in Sydney Monday afternoon, September 12th.

Officers responded to the area at approximately 12:00 PM, after reports from A&P Jewelry that an angry customer, who they knew and were able to identify, had caused significant damage to items inside the store and threatened staff. An officer quickly spotted the suspect running on Norwood Street through residential yards; the officer exited the police vehicle and ran after him, joined by additional officers and a K9 team. They caught up to the suspect on Upper Prince Street, where he eventually cooperated with arrest.

Aaron Rene Francis, of Membertou, is charged with Mischief, Uttering Threats, Resisting a Peace officer and Assaulting a Peace Officer.
