CBR Police warn of counterfeit U.S. currency

After identifying several counterfeit U.S. $100 bills in circulation this week, Cape Breton Regional Police are reminding retailers to be diligent when accepting cash.

The Community Safety Enforcement Unit is investigating 5 different reports from retailers who discovered the counterfeit bills used for purchases. A ll of the bills are identical (as pictured) and share a common serial number: FE52339545A.

Anyone who sees currency with similar characteristics, or has any information on the source of these counterfeit bills is asked to contact police at 902-563-5151 or anonymously through Crime Stoppers
