The CBRM is hosting delegates from France to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge in World War I. During the battle, Canadian troops seized an enemy ridge. However, 3,598 lives were lost and 7,000 wounded.
The public is invited to attend the Cape Breton Regional Municipality's City Hall on Thursday, March 23rd at 11 am.
During the meeting, CBRM District 8 will be twinned with Givenchy-en-Gohelle, home to Canada's Vimy Memorial.
Councillor Amanda McDougall is working with the delegation, and can provide additional information.
