Another week, another issue of The Cape Breton Spectator, the Island's newest independent news source.
And what a week it was, the Spectator was featured by Wendy Bergfeldt of CBC Mainstreet -- both on air and online -- and owner/editor Mary Campbell (i.e. me, and yes, I do think referring to myself in the third person is ridiculous) also spoke to Sheldon MacLeod of the eponymous Sheldon MacLeod Show about her new venture.
And in between, I put another issue together, in which you'll find:
Dr. StrangeJob taking goCapeBreton's own Joe Ward's pledge.
Dolores Campbell (full disclosure: my mother), both the 2016 and 1969 versions!
And me, with privacy vs. secrecy at Business Cape Breton and not one but two positive stories about the CBRM (and you thought I was a nattering nabob of negativity). See what's on the municipality's shopping list and how it is getting better at reporting its financials.
This week all new content is behind the paywall* except for Dolores Campbell's pieces because I want you to see why it's worth subscribing to read her stuff.
Same time next week?
*Actually, the site is experiencing some growing pains, so the paywall is not active this week. You can still subscribe, though -- just click on the picture of the editor with her big coffee cup on the home page.
