The Nova Scotia Teachers Union has announced they will have a one day strike on Friday, February 17th.

The action comes in response to Nova Scotia Premier Stephen McNeil and Education Minister Karen Casey's move to legislate an imposed contract on the union. Three previous negotiated contract proposals have been rejected by union vote.

The strike will be the first province wide strike by teachers ever in the province.
