My Bonnie Lass Musical Instantly Sells Out 4 Performances

Staff at the Savoy Theatre have had a whirlwind week, selling out four performances of My Bonnie Lass, an original musical co-written by Johnny Reid and Toronto playwright Matt Murray. 

The first shows went on sale Tuesday, May 12, 2020 and sold out in just under 3 minutes. Two additional shows sold out by noon on Wednesday May 13, 2020.

Savoy Theatre’s Executive Director Pam Leader happily confirmed the addition of 4 more show dates to accommodate the many requests, “It’s been an enormously busy and exciting few days. We see these sell-outs as a sign of hope and good news for the future,” said Leader.

A  pre-sale for members of Johnny Reid’s Tartan Army fan club will open Thursday May 14th at 9:00am local time. 

Due to the current uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, and in order to comply with current social distancing measures, only 50% of the theatre’s seats will be made available for each performance during this initial release of tickets.

Based on the true story of Reid’s grandmother Maggie, My Bonnie Lass chronicles the life of a working class mother of three, in postwar Lanarkshire, Scotland. When tragedy strikes and Maggie’s world is turned upside down, she must rely on her strength, her sense of humour, and above all, her loyal group of friends to pull her through.

***Note: Due to social distancing measures, we can currently only sell approx. 230 seats out of our regular 760 seats. A percentage of these seats are held for pre-sale at 9am with the rest being released for general public sales at noon***

• Presale for Tartan Army fan club members = 9am SHARP.
• General public sales = 12pm SHARP
• We have 4 phone lines that are answered with calls automatically filed in sequence. 
• Ticket sales go live for both the box office and online at the same time. Due to high volumes of calls, you have a higher success of purchasing tickets before sell out if you do so online.
• Pre-sale tickets are available for Johnny Reid's Tartan Army Fan Club members. It is free to sign up to the fan club and you will be provided an access code you will need to provide us with before we can sell you tickets sign up at johnnyreid.com
• Before purchasing tickets online, please create an account or login to your existing Savoy account. Do not select seats before logging on. Tickets must be purchased under an account name and we cannot override anonymous shopping carts. 
• If you have not tried logging into the site before, please test this well before tickets go on sale.
