Local YouTube star and amateur weatherman, Frankie MacDonald, shared news of receiving his 2018 Moonbeam Children's Book Award on his Facebook page. 

Frankie's book "Be Prepared! The Frankie MacDonald Guide to Life, the Weather, and Everything" with co-author Sarah Sawler earned him a gold medal "Spirit Award" in the Exploration category.
