Greenwood United in Baddeck Becomes Affirming Church

On Nov. 4, members of the Greenwood United Church congregation and invited guests gathered to celebrate the church's acheivement of becoming an Affirming Ministry - one intentionally open and inviting of people of all sexual orientation and gender identities. Greenwood becomes the farthest eastern church in Canada with the Affirm United recognition. Presenting a certificate of recognition to Affirming committee member Graeme Fownes (centre) is Nancy Corrigan of Inverness-guysborough Presbytery (centre right). Also pictured are (L-R): Kim Macaulay, invited speaker, Reverend Mary Jo Harrison, Glenda Kaiser, Norm Macmullen and Janice Cox. Photo by Andrew Brooks / The Victoria Standard.
