Haakim Johnson just arrived in Sydney after completing a stint playing in Europe, and is now activated to play in the next Highlanders game tomorrow (Sunday, November 26) in Moncton.
At 6’7”, Johnson has the size and shooting accuracy of a forward, but with the ball-handling skills of a guard.
Johnson played for the Saint John Riptide last season and is reunited with Head Coach Rob Spon, who is now also with the Highlanders.
Johnson attended The University of Pikeville where he average 15 points, 6 rebounds and 3 assists per game. After college, Johnson was selected as the first overall pick in the PBL draft. He has played professional basketball in the USA, Canada, Japan, Mexico, the Middle East, and Europe.
Luther Head has been moved to the reserved list due to a recent foot injury that kept him from playing the first two games of the season.
