Hats & Scarves for Cancer Patients

If you knit or crochet consider making hats for your local cancer centre. If you see warm hats on sale consider buying a few and dropping them off at your local cancer centre. If you sew consider making head scarves.

Chemotherapy patients often suffer hair loss. In winter months that means cold heads and a risk of catching a cold. For people with compromised immune systems that can be a problem. At any time of the year the loss of hair can be, and usually is, a very emotional experience and stylish hats or scarves are needed.

There are lots of free patterns online. Here are 2:

At our local cancer centre they are taken by patients almost as fast as they come in and are well appreciated.
