The Cape Breton Highlanders played their second game in two nights, this time against the Halifax Hurricanes, Saturday at Centre 200. The Highlanders fell 112-108 in overtime to the Hurricanes.
The Highlanders set the tone early going 3 for 3 from the beyond the 3-point line, and after withstanding a push back from the Hurricanes, took a 50-46 lead into half time. The Highlanders battled hard in the third, taking a 75-66 lead into the final quarter. However, the Hurricanes rallied in the final period and the teams were tied at 96 after 48 minutes. In overtime, Halifax took control and left Cape Breton with the win.
Chad Frazier led the Highlanders with 35 points and 7 rebounds. Charles Mann scored 19 points with 4 assists and 5 rebounds, and Booker Woodfox also scored 18 points while adding 4 assists.
Ta'Quan Zimmerman led the Hurricanes with 21 points, 6 assists and 5 rebounds. Tyrone Watson was a physical presence all game while scoring 17 points with 8 rebounds, and Billy White also added 14 points with 8 rebounds
