Quarter 1: Highlanders 29, Sudbury 41

Sudbury got out to an early lead with their perimeter shooting playing a big factor in their success. Cape Breton struggled to find a way to stop Sudbury's offense, and found themselves down 11 at the end of the quarter.

 

Quarter 2: Highlanders 65, Sudbury 77

The Highlanders came out very strong in the second quarter, outscoring their opponents 25-12 in the first 6 minutes of the quarter to take the lead in the game. Sudbury was quick to regain control of the game with efficient 3-point shooting. Sudbury’s Jaylen Brand finished the half with 23 points, with 21 of those coming from beyond the arc. Cape Breton’s Jamal Reynolds, Chris Johnson, and Devin Sweetney all put up 13 points in the half.

 

Quarter 3: Highlanders 103, Sudbury 106

The second half continued to display plenty of offense from both teams. Sudbury maintained their lead for most of the quarter as Cape Breton struggled to find a way to stop Sudbury's scoring efficiency. The Highlanders slowly picked away at the Sudbury lead making the game much closer. Cape Breton found themselves only down 3 points heading into the final quarter. Cape Breton’s Landon Atterberry had 23 points at the end of the quarter.  

 

Quarter 4: Highlanders 138, Sudbury 133

The final quarter saw both teams exchanging leads early on. As the quarter went on, Cape Breton managed to keep a small lead heading into the final minutes of the game. With just seconds remaining and Sudbury down 3 points, Cape Breton’s Devin Sweetney came up with a big steal to ice the game and take the win.
